Michael J. Miller
For 30 years, Michael J. Miller has been in the private practice of representing those injured and aggrieved in cases of personal injury. He received his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Maryland in 1975. Immediately following, he pursued his legal degree from the University of Baltimore, receiving his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1978. He was first admitted to practice law in Virginia (1979), then Washington D.C. (1985), Maryland (1986), and Pennsylvania.
While his legal career began in 1979, Michael Miller’s legal practice has concentrated primarily on medical negligence and pharmaceutical litigation since 1985. Miller and Associates played an important role in L-tryptophan and fen-phen litigation in the 1990s. The law firm has also been integral in litigating other major areas of personal injury law, including, but not limited to, Zyprexa, Seroquel, Digitek and Avandia.
Michael J. Miller, a pilot and father to six children, is a highly qualified and experienced personal injury lawyer with an impeccable record of accomplishment. Mr. Miller was the lead counsel in a product liability construction claim that resulted in an $8.5 million settlement after just four days of trial in a conservative county of Virginia.
Michael Miller has been the lead trial counsel in numerous medical malpractice cases producing seven figure results for his clients. Due to his tremendous success in helping protect the rights of those injured by medical malpractice, Mr. Miller’s practice concentrated largely in the areas of HMO and pharmaceutical litigation by 1995. Since 1998, his practice has been exclusively dedicated to representing those injured by medical malpractice, defective drugs, and faulty medical devices.
Today, Mr. Miller is a senior partner in a 10-lawyer firm dealing exclusively with plaintiff pharmaceutical and medical malpractice litigation.
Due to his tremendous knowledge, skill, and experience, Mr. Miller is often requested to lecture for esteemed legal organizations around the country including the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Virginia Trial Lawyers, Arkansas Trial Lawyer and Mississippi Trial Lawyers. He is often asked to share his immense knowledge of HMO litigation, ERISA pre-emption, pharmaceutical litigation, trial technique, and evidence. Mr. Miller is a former member of the Board of Governors of Virginia Trial Lawyers Association. He is also a member of the D.C. Trial Lawyers Association and Trial Lawyers for Public Justice.
