Firefighting Foam Exposure/PFAS Water
The Miller Firm is pursuing AFFF claims for exposure to firefighters and military personnel. AFFF stands for Aqueous Film-Forming Foam. It’s a type of firefighting foam used to extinguish fires, particularly those involving fuels like gasoline and jet fuel.
They were widely used since the 1960s but unfortunately have severe adverse health and environmental conferences. AFFF contains “forever chemicals” known as PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) that are toxic and cancerous. The use of AFFF has unfortunately led to both firefights being exposed to toxic amounts of PFAS and water systems surrounding military bases being contaminated.
Accordingly, the Miller Firm is pursuing claims of victims of such exposure that have been diagnosed with testicular cancer, kidney cancer, ulcerative colitis, liver cancer, thyroid cancer, and thyroid disease.
Judge Richard Gergel in Charleston, South Carolina is presiding over 10,000 claims and intends to preside over the first trial in October 2025.
