The Miller Firm proudly represents victims and families of victims of 1998 embassy bombing attacks in Kenya and Tanzania. Hundreds of people were murdered in truck bombs that were set off outside the embassy. The attack was linked to Al Queda and Osama Bin Laden.
Two years ago, under the terror act, the Miller Firm proved that the country of Sudan materially aided Al Queda in these attacks and received a judgment against Sudan on behalf of these victims. Last year a significant amount of assets designated as Sudanese were frozen and seized by the US government after BNP Paribas admitted to activities in violation of banking regulations. The Miller Firm has been working to get justice for these victims of terror.
Today, there will be a sentencing hearing and the Justice Department will likely announce their plan with the seized assets. We certainly hope they announce a program that fairly and efficiently compensates victims of the embassy bombing. Please read more about today’s historic hearing here.
